blurb
I’m out for revenge.
After careful planning, I gave the man who messed with my family a taste of his own medicine. I thought it’d end there.
It didn’t.
Landon King is a genius artist, a posh rich boy, and my worst nightmare. He’s decided that I’m the new addition to his chess game. Too bad for him, I’m no pawn. If he hits, I hit back, twice as hard and with the same hostility.
He says he’ll ruin me. Little does he know that ruination goes both ways.
my review
She's on a mission for revenge, and her target is none other than the charming god, the genius sculptor—Landon King. An insufferable bastard who's already take a swing to her family. She thought she could walk away with her revenge, but Landon had other plans. Instead of backing down, she poked the bear and unwittingly became his obsession.
As her pursuit of revenge intensifies, Landon slowly descends into the depths of his maniac side, losing passion along the way. His fixation finds a focal point in Mia's panic-filled eyes, becoming his muse. Unafraid to push boundaries, Landon revels in the sheer terror that freezes her like a statue.
“Perfectly statuesque. Absolutely stunning.”
Little does he know, she's not just a victim; she's a spitfire ready to kick and maim when her family is targeted.
In a series full of egomaniacs, Landon's cockiness feels a tad overbearing. Those bursts of ego started to get on my nerves after a while. He shares an antisocial and narcissistic personality disorder with Killian, but while Killian strike a balance in his cockiness, he also at least pretends to care. Landon manages to piss off everyone, including his own Elites and family.
It's a wild rollercoaster of egos, loyalties, family ties, childhood traumas, and spiced up with some seriously messed-up kinks. Don't get me wrong, it's a good read, but it lands at the bottom of my favorites in this series. So, fasten your seatbelt for a journey through vengeance, obsessions, and a whole lot of twists.
