From small-town West Virginia to upscale California, from downtown Boston to rural Texas, the two hunters collide in an annual game of blood and suffering, one that pits them against the most dangerous monsters in the country.
But as their friendship develops into something more, the restless ghosts left in their wake are only a few steps behind, ready to claim more than just their newfound love.
Can Rowan and Sloane dig themselves out of a game of graves?
Or have they finally met their match?

Accidental cannibalism - Not-so-accidental cannibalism
Questionable use of a mummified corpse, Lobotomized man servant, Ill-advised use of kitchen implements, cookies and cream ice cream, References to parental neglect and child abuse. It’s a book about serial killers, so there’s some generally messed-up murder and chaos. SMUT 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️
My Review
From my perspective, Butcher & Blackbird is an absolute gem of a read, weaving together elements of comedy, romance, smut, and murder in a way that's both unexpected and utterly delightful. The author's skillful balance keeps you giggling from start to finish, even in moments where accidental cannibalism or the use of a mummified corpse somehow become hilarious. It's a testament to their storytelling prowess that such seemingly dark topics can be turned into comedic gold.
The heart of the story lies in its lovable yet quirky characters. Sloan, the socially awkward killer of killers, but with a heart of gold, and Roman, the cocky and loveable Butcher of Boston with an Irish accent, are an unlikely duo that you can't help but root for. Their antics and banter leap off the page, and if you have the chance, listening to the audiobook only enhances the experience. The narration is brilliant!
As the author aptly puts it, if you're the type who reads trigger warnings and thinks, "Accidental cannibalism?! Count me in!" then Butcher & Blackbird is tailor-made for you. It's a wild ride that's equal parts charming and absurd, leaving you eagerly awaiting whatever twisted adventures the characters embark on next.
